I talked with them about 2 weeks ago (in fact, my original post started
this thread - never expected this!), and they said:
1) To upgrade from LW 3.5 standalone to LW 4.0 ANY PLATFORM is $149.
2) There is no such ANY PLATFORM upgrade for VT owners; however, there is
a VT 4.0 upgrade path (don't know price - anyone?) for Amiga (obviously).
My original question, and I think it still stands, is do I have to get
(1) a standalone upgrade ($149) and (2) a seperate LW 4.0 NT version
($1000 ?) if I wanted an NT renderer? If I do, no problem or complaints -
that's business and it still is a good deal (I just have to make some
choices). Personally, I am putting a Warp Engine in my A3000, get the 4.0
upgrade, and if I need lots of rendering horsepower, either rent it or
have a friend help me out. Simple!
